Person On Tracks Hit By Train In Hudson Valley, Officials Say An MTA train hit a person on the tracks, causing a serious leg wound. According to the MTA, the incident took place around 11:35 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, when the southbound Croton-Harmon-bound train struck the person at the Breakneck Ridge station in Fishkill in Dutchess County. CT Deli Heavily Damaged By Fire A popular Connecticut deli and bakery was heavily damaged by an overnight fire. The fire started around 11:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8 at the New London County Avventura Bakery & Deli in Stonington, said Stonington Fire Chief Eric Heath. Heath said the department was alerted to the fire by numerous 911 calls and an alarm. The first arriving units found heavy smoke and fire inside the deli that is known for its sweet treats and stacked sandwiches. The blaze began around 12:20 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, at a home located in New Haven County at 79 Pleasant View Road in Derby, said the Derby Fire Department. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house was up in flames, but were able to knock it down quickly, the department said.
