CT Student On Way To School Struck By Car In Crosswalk A Connecticut high school student is hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing the roadway leading to his school.  The Hartford County student was hit around 7:10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Plainville, according to the principal of Plainville High School. CT Woman Dies After Being Struck By Car A Connecticut woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle on a busy roadway. Hartford County resident Yvonne Constant, age 55, of New Britain, was killed around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, on Willard Ave., in Newington, police said, Responding EMS attempted lifesaving measures on Constant, who was later died at an area hospital, police said. The driver of the vehicle, a passenger car, remained on the scene, police said. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Detective Feeney at 860-594-6208.

Fairfield County Woman Charged With Stealing Bushes, Police Say A Fairfield County woman has been charged with allegedly stealing several bushes from the front of a home and dragging them to her apartment. Long Island Man Hit By Box Truck Dies From Injuries A Long Island man who was struck by a box truck while crossing a busy roadway has died. Alfred Piretto, age 86, died on Monday, Nov. 22, from the injuries suffered during the crash on Tuesday, Nov. 16 in Franklin Square. According to detectives, Piertto, of Franklin Square, was struck at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike. The driver of the box truck, 34, remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Man Charged With Sexually Abusing Minor In Fairfield County, Police Say A man from the region who allegedly sexually abused a minor over a period of time has been extradited to Fairfield County. Robert Mills, age 74, of New York City, was arrested following a lengthy investigation that began in July of 2020, said Captain Robert Cipolla, of the Wilton Police. Mills is accused of sexually assaulting a minor victim over the course of several years, police said.  He was arrested by NYPD and following extradition, was transported from Riker's Island to Wilton PD by Wilton officers. Mills was held on a $250,000 bond.
