It's Opening Day For New Restaurant In Hudson Valley
A new restaurant is set to throw open its doors in the Hudson Valley.
The International Buffet & Grill, in Dutchess County, opens on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 2355 South Road in the town of Poughkeepsie, taking the place of a Golden Corral that shuttered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Not a lot is known about the new restaurant except it serves a variety of international food including American, Mexican, Italian, and Dominican, the restaurant said on Facebook.
Some choices on the buffet will include pizza, chicken rotisserie, desserts, and a chocolate fountain.

Fairfield County Man Wanted For Murder, Surrenders To Police
A Fairfield County man wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend has surrendered to police.
Miguel Rojas, age 28, of Bridgeport, surrendered to police to face charges in connection to the Friday, Dec. 3 homicide of Jalen Parilla, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency management for Bridgeport.
According to witnesses, Rojas, who has two children with his ex-girlfriend, shot Parilla, age 37, of Stratford.
After the shooting, Parilla was rushed to Saint Vincent's Hospital where he died a short time later.

Beloved Hudson Valley Teacher Dies Unexpectedly
A beloved Hudson Valley teacher recently passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60.
Orange County resident Kathy Butsko, of Newburgh, died on Monday, Nov. 29.
Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Butsko was a master's graduate of Marist College and was also an adjunct professor at Marist College and SUNY Orange; she was very passionate about education, her obituary said,
In addition to teaching, Butsko loved music and traveled to many states to see her favorite band, Garbage.
She was also a big fan of Gaelic Storm and all things Irish.

Police Dog Rescues Missing Long Island Woman
A Long Island police K-9 and his handler rescued a missing woman who was found shivering and wet near her home.
Officer Ralph DiMasi and K-9 Jax found the 62-year-old East Moriches woman who suffers from dementia more than 18 hours after she was reported missing from her home, said the Suffolk County Police.
The woman, who went missing around 8 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, was found after a massive search that included uniformed officers, Aviation Section, Marine Bureau, and Canine Section.

Fairfield Man Awaiting Trial Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say
A Fairfield County man awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting a girlfriend has been arrested again for firing shots at another woman he used to date, police said.
Demetrius Young, age 27, of Bridgeport, turned himself in to police assigned to the US Marshal Service Task Force on Tuesday, Nov. 30, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport.
Young was charged with attempted murder for the Monday, Nov. 15, incident in which he fired shots at the victim, Appleby said.
