She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Fairfield Man Awaiting Trial Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say A Fairfield County man awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting a girlfriend has been arrested again for firing shots at another woman he used to date, police said. Demetrius Young, age 27, of Bridgeport, turned himself in to police assigned to the US Marshal Service Task Force on Tuesday, Nov. 30, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport. Young was charged with attempted murder for the Monday, Nov. 15, incident in which he fired shots at the victim, Appleby said. Police Dog Rescues Missing Long Island Woman A Long Island police K-9 and his handler rescued a missing woman who was found shivering and wet near her home. Officer Ralph DiMasi and K-9 Jax found the 62-year-old East Moriches woman who suffers from dementia more than 18 hours after she was reported missing from her home, said the Suffolk County Police. The woman, who went missing around 8 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, was found after a massive search that included uniformed officers, Aviation Section, Marine Bureau, and Canine Section. Person Nabbed For Stealing $5K In Goods From LI Store, Second Woman Gets Away, Police Say One Long Island woman was arrested and police are searching for a second after the two allegedly stole more than $5,000 worth of merchandise from a Micheal Kors store. The incident took place around 5:40 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, at the store located in the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead. The two removed 14 bags of merchandise valued at $5,892 from the store without paying, according to Riverhead Police. Fast-Moving House Fire Displaces Family In Hudson Valley A family has been displaced after a fire ripped through their home in the Hudson Valley. The blaze broke out around 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at 14 River Road in Stony Point. The family was able to get out safely, but the home sustained heavy damage from smoke, fire, and water, said the Stony Point Fire Department said. A neighboring home was also damaged, the department said. Officials said a preliminary investigation revealed the fire started on the porch of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Child Struck By Vehicle In Hudson Valley A child suffered a leg injury after being hit by a vehicle on a roadway in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place a little after 9 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6, at 372 Blauvelt Road in Monsey, said the Ramapo Police. The child was transported to Westchester Medical Center with a minor leg injury, police said.

Missing College Student Found Dead After Frat Party Fight A missing college student from Massachusetts who had been missing following a night with friends has been found dead. The Durham Police Department in New Hampshire reported the body of Plymouth County resident Vincenzo "Vinny" Lirosi, age 22, of Whitman, Massachusetts, was found in a marshy area off of Coe Drive at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, by a New England Search and Rescue K-9 team. Tractor-Trailer Rollover Crash Backs Up I-95 In Fairfield County Commuters can expect some backups on I-95 in Fairfield County following a rollover crash of a tractor-trailer. The crash took place around 4:15 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6 in Fairfield between Exits 19 and 20, said the Fairfield Fire Department. The state Department of Transportation said the highway was congested for miles following the crash which dumped a bundled section of one-ton metal pipe onto the roadway. Fairfield County Man Nabbed For Stealing Watch While Working For Moving Company, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with larceny after allegedly stealing an expensive watch while working for a moving company. Jamar Blackburn, age 32, of Bridgeport, was arrested by Darien Police on Tuesday, Nov. 23 for the incident which took place in July in Darien. Man From Region Admits To Possessing Child Porn A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty in federal court to possessing child pornography. Worcester County resident Matthew Stefanelli, age 32, of Upton, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography on Thursday, Dec. 2, according to the US Attorney's Office for Massachusetts. According to officials, in December 2020, a CyberTip report identified Stefanelli as the owner of an account used to store child pornography.
