Peekskill Police Use Facebook To Get Information On Vandalized Cars PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill Police are offering a $500 reward for information after tires were slashed on more than 40 cars in the city. Police posted video on their Facebook page of one of the suspects in the tire-slashing spree. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective John Merritt at 914-737-8000 who has been assigned to investigate the case. "We are taking this cowardly act very seriously and will use all of our resources to identify and arrest the person (s) responsible," police said. "All callers may remain anonymous." Peekskill Embraces Native Son George Pataki's Presidential Run PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- George Pataki may be a longshot in his run for the Republican nomination but he has the support of his hometown of Peekskill. Pataki, a Garrison resident who served as governor for three terms and announced his candidacy last week, was born and raised in Peekskill. He was elected mayor in 1981 and was later elected as assemblyman and state senator before ascending to the governor's office in 1994. Pataki now lives in Garrison. Pleasantville High School Celebrates Metro Awards PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- At Pleasantville High School, the Metro Awards have become an annual tradition. Pleasantville High School won four Metro Awards Monday night for "Man of La Mancha", including Best Production. James McCarthy won his second straight Metro Award for Best Actor for his performance of Don Quixote and Pleasantville also won for Best Music Director and Student Critic. Firefighters Contain Electrical Fire In New Rochelle Restaurant NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Firefighters were able to quickly contain a fire at Queen City Buffet Tuesday afternoon in New Rochelle. A sign over the front entrance caught on fire at the restaurant, located at 566 Main St., according to Chief Louis Dimeglio. Dimeglio said firefighters arrived on the scene within two minutes and were able to locate the smoke and isolate the wire. "They had it out in seconds," Dimeglio said. Dimeglio said firefighters remained on the scene for about 35 minutes. There were no injuries.

Bald Eagles Are Back In Big Way In Westchester, Hudson Valley BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Thirty years ago, it would've been a rare sight to see a bald eagle flying in the Westchester sky. Now, bald eagles have become so common, places like Teatown in Ossining host an annual EagleFest. Bald Eagles Back In Big Way In Putnam, Hudson Valley PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Thirty years ago, it would've been a rare sight to see a bald eagle flying in the Putnam sky. Now in the winter, bald eagles have become a common sight in Putnam thanks to conservation efforts to bring them back. Mother Of 6-Year-Old Lacey Carr Of Croton Is No Longer At Hospital CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Kathleen Dymes, the mother of 6-year-old Lacey Carr, who died on Easter Sunday, is no longer a patient at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow. The hospital did not provide further details, only that she left the hospital about three to four days ago. Dymes had previously been in fair condition. Dymes was found unconscious with Lacey in their Croton-on-Hudson home in April. Lacey was pronounced dead at Phelps while Dymes was hospitalized there for almost two months. NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital Center Honors Employees CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital honored some of its employees at a ceremony last week for their perfect attendance. The hospital honored 217 of their 712 full-time employees for perfect attendance. Some of the employees had been on the job for more than 45 years. “You should all be proud,’’ said President John C.
