Candidates Run Unopposed In Dover School Board Election
DOVER, N.Y. – Two candidates are running unopposed in Tuesday's Dover School Board election, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Douglas Schroeder and Russell Infantino are running for the two seats, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. Along with the school board, voters will also consider a school budget increase of 2.3 percent, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal. Voting takes place until 9 p.m. at the Dover Middle School. Wappinger Teen Charged With Passing Forged Checks
WAPPINGER, N.Y. – An 18-year old Wappinger man was arrested by New York State Police on multiple charges for forging checks on May 12. Julian Rodriguez was charged with second-degree forgery, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd Degree, and petit larceny. Rodriguez was arrested after authorities found he had passed stolen and forged checks at two banks to get around $880. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 bail and $10,000 bond, and answered to the charges in Wappingers Falls Village Court and Fishkill Village Court on Monday.

Mount Vernon's Lawrence Vows To Fight After Petitions Ruled Invalid
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Mount Vernon's Derickson Lawrence vowed to continue fighting after the state Board of Elections ruled his candidate petitions invalid on May 4. Teens Learn Video Editing, 3D Printing At Red Hook High School
RED HOOK, N.Y. – The latest installment of the Red Hook Makes series sponsored by the Red Hook Public Library and held at the Red Hook High School library will take place Friday. From 2:15-3:30 p.m., teens can learn the ins and outs of video editing and 3-D printing. Attendees will learn green-screen filming and how to edit the footage. The library is at 103 W. Market St.

State Approves Danbury High Renovation Funding
DANBURY, Conn. – The Connecticut Senate approved funding for renovations to Danbury High School last week, according to WLAD-AM. Money will go towards the DHS 2020 project, which will include various upgrades and a raft of new construction, WLAD-AM said. PALENVILLE, N.Y. – A Greene County resident has been looking for his five-month old pet zebra since she went missing days ago, according to TWC News. MAMARONECK, N.Y. – A new public arts initiative was launched in Mamaroneck last week with the unveiling of sculptures by artist Ernest Shaw near the Mamaroneck Public Library and Emelin Theatre. Judge Orders Port Chester To Restore Staffing For Rye Fire Station
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A state Supreme Court judge ordered Port Chester to temporarily restore paid staffing to the Rye Brook fire station Tuesday, according to lohud.com. The ruling came just after Rye Brook filed a lawsuit against Port Chester for violation of their shared fire services contract, lohud.com said. Port Chester made the decision to eliminate its paid fire department last week, facilitating the lawsuit, reported lohud.com.
