Anthony Louis Pizzi, 55, Garfield Resident GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield resident Anthony Louis Pizzi died Saturday, Jan. 9. He was 55. Born in Paterson, Pizzi graduated from Garfield High School and was employed by the Garfield Housing Authority for many years. He is survived by his children Krystal Muriel, Louis Pizzi, Michael Pizzi, Brittney Pizzi and Anthony Pizzi Jr.; mother Mary Pizzi; sister Cecelia Pizzi; and grandchildren Romeo, Enzo, Jacob and fiancée Stacey Realbuto. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Pizzi. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

He was born June 7, 1932, in Brooklyn, the N.Y., Paul and Lucy De Gennaro.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, De Gennaro obtained a bachelor's in business administration. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Dypko was a member of the Camp Merritt American Legion Post 21 of Cresskill. He spent most of his career in the mortgage business, until his retirement in 1995. He was an accomplished athlete, who pitched in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league organization and played semi-pro basketball in the Clifton-Passaic area.
