Bergen Businesses Among 14 Newly-Barred From Practicing In NJ: DOL
An additional 14 New Jersey businesses have been barred from practicing for short-changing workers and other violations, bringing the total to 82, according to the state's Labor and Workforce Development Department. The businesses — which were named to the NJDOL’s Workplace Accountability in Labor List (the WALL) — owe a collective $956,000 in wages and penalties to the state and their employees. A late morning crash brought traffic on Route 80 to a halt in Morris County on Tuesday, Dec. 26. An Audi passenger vehicle and an Acura passenger vehicle were heading westbound when they attempted to merge and collided near milepost 31.8 in Roxbury Township around 11:05 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair told Daily Voice. The Acura then ran off the roadway and struck the guardrail, McNair said. No injuries were reported. Two of three right lanes were temporarily closed as of 11:30 a.m., causing delays of about 15 minutes, but had reopened within about an hour. …

A Freightliner driver was hospitalized after being rear-ended by an SUV in a crash that closed a portion of Route 80 closed for several hours on Tuesday morning, Dec. 26, state police said. The crash occurred on the westbound side near milepost 22.4 in Allamuchy just before 8 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair told Daily Voice. 1 Airlifted In Christmas Crash In Sussex County
One person was airlifted to a nearby hospital following a Christmas Day crash in Sussex County, state police said. One vehicle overturned after colliding with another vehicle on CR 565 in Frankford Township around 4 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan told Daily Voice. One of the occupants was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Marchan said. No further details were released.

A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a Nissan caused a fuel spill that left Route 31 in Warren County closed for hours on Wednesday morning, Dec. 20, police said. It happened around 4:35 a.m., Washington Township Police Chief Christopher M. Jones said. A 46-year-old Belvidere man was driving a Nissan Rouge next to a 25-year-old Hackettstown man driving a tractor-trailer southbound on Route 31 in Oxford Township when the tractor-trailer “lost control, slid and pushed the Nissan off the road,” Jones said. SUV Runs Off Hunterdon County Roadway, Slams Into Parked Subaru: State Police
A driver was taken to the hospital after an SUV veered off a Hunterdon County roadway and collided with a parked Subaru passenger vehicle on Tuesday night, Dec. 19, state police said. The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Pattenburg Road in Union Township, NJSP Det. I Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice. The Dodge SUV “lost directional control” before running off the road, through the guardrail, and colliding with a parked Subaru passenger vehicle, Lebron said. A 98-year-old woman was killed and a 71-year-old man hospitalized with serious injuries as a fire raced through and collapsed a Morris County home on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 19.
