The Phillipsburg community is coming together to support a beloved mom who is battling a rare form of ALS.
GoFundMe creator Samantha Anderson of Phillipsburg says her mother, Kathleen, is “also an amazing grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and the best friend you could ever have.”
About two months ago, Kathleen, 62, received a heartbreaking diagnosis of Bulbar Onset ALS, which Anderson says typically begins in the face and neck and is ultimately “one of the rarest and most aggressive types of ALS.”

A local man was charged with aggravated assault and other offenses after shooting projectiles from an imitation firearm at staff members and customers at a Sussex County Walmart, authorities said.
Nicholas G. Sacerdote, 18, is accused of running through the Franklin store and shooting customers and staff members with “gel-like projectiles” from an imitation firearm, borough police said in a Monday, April 10 release.
The incident, which hurt one staff member, occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 21, the release said.

Musician Dan Crawford says his “most cherished title is father,” according to a GoFundMe created for his medical expenses.
“I have been given many gifts in my life, but none compares to having four wonderful sons, I am blessed and grateful,” he writes.

Tributes and condolences are pouring in for beloved Morris County native Carlie Annelise Peterson, who died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 4 at the age of 18.
