Westport Police: Tenant Facing Eviction Threatened To Shoot Landlord WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Westport man was charged with threatening to shoot his landlord after being evicted this weekend, according to police. Police were dispatched to a Weston Road address in Westport on Saturday at around 11 p.m. on a report of a disturbance. The person who called said that he had recently initiated the eviction process against a tenant who rents a room from him, according to police. The tenant, identified as 43-year-old Jamie Green, had become upset and threatened to shoot the landlord, frightening other people in the home, according to police. Green was taken into custody…

Westport Police: Stratford Man Broke Into Multiple Cars, Stole Credit Cards WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Stratford man was arrested on multiple burglary charges after police said he broke into cars in Westport and stole credit cards. In the early morning hours of Nov. 3, 2016, Westport Police were dispatched to the beach area on a report of multiple burglaries and thefts from cars. One Soundview Drive resident reported that her debit cards and license were stolen from her car during the overnight hours. Roof Catches Fire At Maritime Motors In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Nobody was injured when the roof of Maritime Motors on Post Road in Fairfield caught fire on Saturday morning. The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from Maritime Motors at 985 Post Road at 9:24 a.m. Saturday, reporting that the roof was on fire. Yorktown Driver Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Hydrant YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was arrested on drunken driving charges after police said he hit a fire hydrant in front of an officer and then drove off early Saturday morning. At around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, an officer on patrol saw a black Acura hit a fire hydrant at the intersection of Crompond Road and Old Yorktown Road in Yorktown before fleeing the scene, police said. Wilton Police Warn: Don't Fall For 'Infidelity Scam' WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton Police are warning residents about a new "infidelity scam" intended to scare people into sending money.Scammers will send a note to someone that states, "I know about the secret you are keeping from your wife," along with a demand that the recipient pay $2,000 in Bitcoin to keep the matter confidential, police said. Police are warning residents not to send any money if they receive a letter of similar nature, and to report any such instances to the police.

RBS Securities To Pay $35M Penalty For Scheme Conducted In Stamford Office STAMFORD, Conn. -- The global securities firm RBS Securities, Inc. has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office to pay a penalty of $35 million for a fraudulent trading scheme conducted primarily from its trading floor in Stamford.In addition, RBS Securities will also pay more than $9 million in restitution to victim customers, which includes firms affiliated with recipients of federal bailout funds through the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Pickup Truck Catches Fire At Gas Station In Mahopac The engine compartment of a pickup truck caught fire next to a gas station in Mahopac on Saturday. The Mahopac Falls Fire Department was dispatched to the Red Mills Shell station on Route 6N on a report of a "car fire next to the gas pumps," according to fire officials.
