Barn Destroyed, Chickens Killed In Blaze In Redding REDDING, Conn. -- A fire destroyed a barn, killed five chickens and briefly shut down traffic on Route 58 in Redding on Friday.Firefighters responded to 128 Black Rock Turnpike in Redding at around 11 a.m. Friday on a report of a barn fire, according to the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company. In addition to Redding firefighters, mutual aid was called in from Stony Hill, Bethel, Brookfield, and Danbury, according to the News-Times.
