He was 87 years young.  A longtime resident of Westport, Haffner was born in Brooklyn, NY to Anna and Irving Haffner. He received a BS in Physics from Brooklyn Polytechnic University in 1952 and an MBA from Hofstra University in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1956 where he worked at Picatinny Arsenal, the New Jersey research and development center. Norwalk Police Seek Fraud Suspect NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Police are seeking the public's help identifying a suspect who scammed an out of state resident by pretending to be a law enforcement officer. Police said that the victim received numerous phone calls from the suspect, who said he was a law enforcement officer. He demanded that the victim wire money because the victim's grandson was in jail, police said. Three People Report Being Pepper Sprayed In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- Three people reported being pepper sprayed in downtown Stamford on Tuesday, and three juvenile girls were taken into custody, according to the Stamford Advocate.
