Video: State Troopers Rescue Man From Burning Car On I-84 MIDDLEBURY, Conn. — Connecticut State Police troopers rescued a New York man from a burning car on I-84 westbound in Middlebury on Monday. At around 2:30 p.m. Monday, troopers from Troop A-Southbury were dispatched to I-84 westbound at Exit 17 in Middlebury for a one-car crash. The vehicle had gone off the road and caught fire.  The car, which had veered off the highway for unknown reasons, struck a rock face ledge on the right shoulder, police said. Sgt. Three Unlocked Cars Stolen In Greenwich Over The Holidays GREENWICH, Conn. — Three cars that had been left unlocked were reported stolen in Greenwich over the holiday weekend, according to Greenwich Patch. A 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe was reported stolen from a home on Florence Road on Friday, and the following day a 2016 Mazda CX-9 was taken from a home on Jackson Street, and a 2015 Audi A6 was stolen on Ridge Road, according to Patch. All three were left unlocked in driveways with the keys inside, Patch reported. Police told Patch that there has been an increasing number of car thefts in town. The female black bear, which weighed about 150 pounds, attacked the two horses at a home on Bucks Hill Road, according to the News-Times. The attack took place in a closed pen, the News-Times reported.
