Norwalk Police Hand Out Dozens Of Tickets During Seat Belt Campaign NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Department busted more than 40 people who weren't wearing their seat belts during their recent Click It or Ticket campaign. Police conducted the Click It or Ticket initiative in conjunction with the state Department of Transportation from Nov. 20 through Nov. 27. During the campaign, they handed out 43 tickets for seat belt infractions, six infractions for cell phone use, stopped two uninsured drivers, issued one speeding infraction, and found 12 other motor vehicle violations, according to police.

Stamford Man Charged With Stabbing Woman During Fight STAMFORD, Conn. — Police charged a 28-year-old Stamford man with stabbing his girlfriend in the arm during a fight on Wednesday, according to the Stamford Advocate. The girlfriend told police that Wilmer Cardona-Sandoval came home drunk Wednesday night and threw her on the bed and demanded rent money, according to the Stamford Advocate. At one point he pulled out a knife and tried to stab her in the stomach, but instead slashed her arm, the Stamford Advocate reported. Cop Will Not Join Westport Department After Pushback WESTPORT, Conn. — A police officer who was scheduled to be sworn in to the Westport Police Department this week will no longer join the department after reports surfaced of allegations against him while he served in New Haven, according to the Westport News. Norwalk Man Pleads Guilty In Connection To Wilton Bear Killing WILTON, Conn. — A Norwalk man pleaded guilty in connection with the killing of bears in Wilton in September on Thursday, according to the Hour. Police had arrested 34-year-old Daniel Moran of Norwalk and 28-year-old Antonio Lio of Wilton following the Sept. 16 killing of two black bears in Wilton. Danbury Sex Offender Pleads Guilty To Reentering U.S. After Being Deported DANBURY, Conn. -- A citizen of Ecuador last living in Danbury pleaded guilty to reentering the United States after being deported. Rodolfo Bolivar Tepan, 38, pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to one count of reentry by a removed alien, according to John H. Durham, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. According to court documents, in February 2016 Tepan was sentenced in Danbury Superior Court to 10 years in prison, execution suspended, and five years of probation for risk of injury to a minor. Norwalk Police Hold Stuff A Cruiser Event For Underprivileged Kids Friday NORWALK, Conn. -- Help the Norwalk Police Department bring some holiday joy to underprivileged children by bringing an unwrapped toy to the department's Stuff A Cruiser event on Friday. The NPD Stuff A Cruiser will be held Friday from noon to 8 p.m. at Toys R Us, located at 59 Connecticut Ave. in Norwalk. Social Worker In Greenwich Schools Charged With Stamford Sexual Assault STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford clinical social worker who also works for Greenwich schools was charged with sexually assaulting a woman in his Stamford office in 2013, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that 47-year-old Alexander Pino sexually assaulted the woman during a therapy session at his office on Main Street in Stamford in 2013. Norwalk Driver Charged With Leaving Scene Of Wilton Crash WILTON — A 23-year-old Norwalk man was charged with fleeing after crashing his car into a stone wall in Wilton, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that in the middle of the day on Nov. 7, a Mustang went off the road and hit the wall on Nod Hill Road in Wilton, then went back into the road before hitting a wall on the other side of the road.
