Cortlandt To Honor Veterans Friday During Annual Ceremony CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- The town of Cortlandt has scheduled its annual Veterans Day Ceremony for Friday at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center. Pet Police: Ramapo PD Round Up Puppies In Hillcrest HILLCREST, N.Y. -- The Ramapo Police Department on Friday took to Facebook to highlight the work of the town's Dog Control Officer. Seen wrangling a group of 12-week-old puppies found last month in the area, the officer later located the animals' owner and returned the puppies to their home. According to the police department, the officer's preferred dog-wrangling tunes were written by classic rock band Credence Clearwater Revival, who can be heard in the background of the video as the officer works. Woman Spraying Mace Tops North Castle Police Blotter NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. – A pregnant woman received medical treatment last weekend after another woman tried to enter her home while spraying mace, according to the North Castle Police Department’s blotter. Officers responded to the North Broadway home about 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 29 after the pregnant woman called to report that an acquaintance of her daughter’s was trying to force her way into the home, according to police, who arrived at the scene to find the situation was “under control.” An ambulance was called to attend to the pregnant woman, police said. Mount Vernon Resident Nominated For NAACP Theater Award A Broadway veteran and Mount Vernon resident has been nominated for an NAACP Theater Award for his portrayal of Smokey Robinson in "Motown: The Musical." Eastchester's New Alcohol-Serving Barnes & Noble Faces Construction Delays EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The opening of a new Barnes & Noble “concept store” that will offer its patron alcohol has been delayed until December, according to lohud.com.
