East Ramapo Schools Monitor Leaving Post The monitor appointed to oversee the troubled East Ramapo school district has been named president and chief executive officer of the Queens Library, according to lohud.com. State officials said a replacement would be named for Dennis Walcott, lohud.com reported Though Walcott did not have veto power of the district's Board of Education, he has many supporters in East Ramapo.  Walcott, who was appointed in August, was to lead a team of three monitors investigating East Ramapo, according to lohud.com.
