Fundraising Effort Seeks To Help Former Monroe First Selectman With Cancer MONROE, Conn. -- Friends and family of a three-term former Monroe first selectman have begun a fundraising effort to aid him and his family as he undergoes treatment for lymphoma.Andy Nunn, a Monroe native, served as first selectman from 2001-2007. In November of last year, while seeking new employment after serving at CAO for the city of Bridgeport, he was diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system.
