Her death, on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, came after a two-year battle with cancer, according to her obituary. A resident of the town of Newburgh, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. Hallenbeck III and Elizabeth (Burns) Laurie, who was born on July 1, 1980 in Bronxville. Route 218 Single-Lane Closures Scheduled Lane closures are planned on Route 218 for several hours in Orange County. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert cautioning that there will be single-lane closures in both directions on Route 218 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 between Maple Avenue and Dock Hill Road in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Man, 39, Electrocuted While Removing Tree Leaves Behind Wife, Two Children A 39-year-old man who was electrocuted while removing a tree after hitting a live power line earlier this week leaves behind a wife and two children. John B. Nuzzolo, of Newburgh, died Monday around 9:17 a.m.while removing the tree at 29 Maple Road, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. He was an employee of the MTA, and the Long Island Railroad, and was a former member of Local 38. Nuzzolo is survived by his wife Syndi and his two children Aryanna and John. Man Electrocuted While Removing Tree In Hudson Valley A 39-year-old man was killed while removing a tree in the Hudson Valley, according to police. John B. Nuzzolo of Newburgh, who was a sub-contractor for Simply Stump Grinding & Tree Removal, was working about 40-feet above the ground around 9:17 a.m. Monday to remove the tree at 29 Maple Road, said Cornwall-on-Hudson police. Nuzzolo then hit a live power line and was electrocuted and killed, police added. Village Of Cornwall Budget Proposal Decreases Spending CORNWALL-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Cornwall residents might see a spending decrease next year. The $7.28 million budget decreases spending by $112,450 or 1.5 percent. Mayor Brendan Coyne said the village might put an additional $100,000 into the fund balance, according to the Times Herald-Record.
