Bicyclist Pushed Off, Robbed By Group While Riding On W&OD Trail: Leesburg Pd Police are investigating the robbery of a bicyclist on the W&OD trail in Leesburg. The victim was riding his bike along the trail near East Market Street around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, when he was confronted by five Hispanic males, local police said.  The group pushed the victim off of his bike, assaulted him, and took his belongings, police said. Four of the suspects were dressed in all black, and one was dressed in some white clothing. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident. Bicyclist Killed By Hit-Run Driver In Baltimore Intersection, Police Say An early morning bike ride led to the death of a 47-year-old man who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Baltimore on Sunday morning. Officers from the Baltimore Police Department were called shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 4 to the intersection of West Franklin Street and Payson Street, where a bicyclist was hit by a motorist who did not stay at the scene. The man was left suffering from life-threatening injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by paramedics after they attempted to resuscitate him.  No information about the victim has been release…

Man Busted Weeks After Fatal Holyoke Hit-And-Run That Killed 22-Year-Old: Police Police arrested a man in Springfield this week in connection with the hit-and-run death of 22-year-old Jorge Calderon, authorities announced.  Byron Salgado-Melendez was arrested in the Jan. 5 crash near the intersection of Cabot and Canal streets just before 8 p.m. Calderon was riding his bike when a car crashed into him and sped away. Virginia Man In Critical Condition After Bicyclist, SUV Crash In Fairfax County: Police A Virginia man is in critical condition following a crash involving two bicyclists and an SUV in Fairfax County, authorities said.  Police responded to the crash at Belle Haven Road & Fort Hunt Road in Belle Haven around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9, Fairfax County Police said on Twitter.  Upon arrival, one bicyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene, police said.  The accident closed Belle Haven Road as a result. The crash remains under investigation.
