Small Plane Crashes Off Runway In Sussex County (Update) A pilot got out OK after his Cessna crashed nose-first off the runway Tuesday morning at Sussex Airport, the FAA confirmed. The single-engine 150 crashed at the privately-owned 96-acre airport on County Road 629 in Wantage around 11:45 a.m. April 16. Only the pilot was aboard. Only the pilot was aboard. Berlin, 45, of Parma, MI, made an emergency landing in a field of the 1400 block of Steed Lane in Warren County around 5 p.m., Virginia State Police said. The aircraft landed in a field and struck several trees. Berlin was the only occupant and was not injured. The FAA and NTSB were notified and the incident remains under investigation.

It happened on Friday, June 5 at approximately 7:10 p.m. at the Wurtsboro–Sullivan County Airport in the town of Mamakating.  The two occupants of the single-engine challenger plane were both licensed pilots, State Police said.  Eddy R. Santana, 41, of Wurtsboro was found dead at the scene, according to police.
