The incident took place around 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17 on Cold Spring Road in Stamford, said Lt. Tom Scanlon, of the Stamford Police. According to Scanlon, the Stamford Police Department responded and encountered a scene of two vehicles in the roadway and a victim on the ground and unconscious. The Newburgh Free Academy in Orange County is closed Thursday, Nov. 18, after the City of Newburgh Police discovered four teens shot in the area on Wednesday, Nov. 17. Fairfield County Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of Child, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with numerous counts of allegedly sexually abusing a child over a time period of more than five years. Fernando Cachina, age 86, of Monroe, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 16, for 19 counts of sexual assault charges.  In April, the Monroe Police Department Detective Division received the report of child sexual abuse that had taken place in Monroe.  During the investigation, detectives determined the sexual abuse of the minor by Cachina had been taking place over a period of five years at his home in Monroe, according …

Orange County resident Sean Doyle, age 38, of Cornwall, was sentenced on Tuesday, Nov. 16 in connection with crimes related to domestic violence against News 12 reporter Blaise Gomez, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Person Struck, Killed By Lirr Train A person on the tracks of the Long Island Railroad was hit by a train and killed overnight. The incident took place around 10:54 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16 just east of Mineola, said LIRR officials. The person was pronounced dead on the scene. An investigation will determine additional details, LIRR said. Power was removed and train service was disrupted on a portion of the mainline until approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.
