Missing Long Island 12-Year-Old Found Update: The missing 12-year-old has been found. Original report: Police on Long Island are asking the public for help locating a missing boy. Jamell Harris, age 12, of Hempstead, was reported missing to the Nassau County Police on Thursday, Dec. 16, around noon. According to detectives, Harris was last seen leaving his Terrace Avenue residence. He is described as being 5-foot-6, and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Woman Killed In Crash On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 17K in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place around 4:20 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, in Orange County on Route 17K in the town of Montgomery, police said. The crash occurred when one of the two vehicles crossed the double yellow line and side-swiped the oncoming vehicle, according to Public Information Officer Steven Rangi, of the Montgomery Police. Threat Leads To Shelter In Place Order At School In Region A shelter in place notice at a Western Massachusetts school has been lifted after a potential threat was made on two days. The first threat came in around 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, when the school received a phone call that a threat was made Hampden County's Southwick Regional School, said Principal Joe Turmel in a statement to parents. Ex-Officer Sentenced For Bludgeoning Death Of Woman Inside Hudson Valley Residence A former officer from the region has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the bludgeoning death of a woman inside her home. Luis Rondon, age 50, of New Windsor, was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 14 for the death of the woman he was reportedly having an affair with, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. Long Island Man Killed In Crash After Running Stop Sign, Police Say A Long Island man was killed during a crash with a dump truck after allegedly running a stop sign. The crash took place around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, in Suffolk County at the intersection of Horton and Reeves avenues in Riverhead, police said. Young Woman, Man Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide On Long Island, Police Say Police on Long Island are investigating the homicide of a young woman and the self-inflicted gunshot death of a man in what may be an apparent murder/suicide. The incidents took place around 8 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15 at two locations in Uniondale, the Nassau County Police said. Hudson Valley Man Rescued From Mining Tunnel After Being Trapped By 40-Ton Boulder An employee at an area materials quarry was rescued after a boulder broke free and landed on his machine, trapping him 2,500 feet into a tunnel. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Wingdale Materials quarry in Dutchess County in Dover, said the JH Ketcham Hose Company.
