An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Hamilton Fire Captain's Sudden Death Shocks Community Brian Pfeiffer, a captain with the Hamilton Township Fire Department, died recently, the fire department announced. Pfeiffer's passing was "sudden." The fire department did not say when or how he died and an obituary has not been released. Pfeiffer joined the fire department in 2009, being promoted to captain in 2023. At the time of his death, he was captain of Squad 1 on B Platoon, the fire department said. Jersey City Motorcyclist Fled Cops In Morris County: Police A 35-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged after he fled police during a traffic stop in Morris County on Saturday, May 10, authorities said. Tree Falls On Car, Trapping Driver: Quakertown Fire Company A driver was hospitalized after being trapped in his vehicle after a tree fell on it on Tuesday, May 13 in Alexandria Township, authorities said. At 3 p.m., multiple rescue crews responded to Route 579 and Cooks Cross Road and worked to extricate the driver, using hydraulic rescue tools, Quakertown Fire Company said. Dog Rescued After Near Drowning In Pool: Robbinsville Police Police sprung into action in Robbinsville on Saturday, May 10, rescuing a dog that was drowning, authorities said. That day, officers received a 911 call reporting a dog, Zissou, actively drowning in a backyard pool at a residence on Sienna Court, Robbinsville police said.
