Boy Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train
A boy was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train early Thursday, Aug. 8 in Burlington County, officials said. The crash happened just before 8:20 a.m. and involved a northbound River LINE train at Chestnut Street crossing in Palmyra, NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. There were no injuries reported to the 28 customers or the operator on board the light rail vehicle. River LINE service is suspended between Cinnaminson and Route 73 and is subject to up to 30-minute delays in both directions. Substitute bus service is being provided between Cinnaminson and …

A crash slowed traffic on the outer roadway along the NJ Turnpike early Thursday, Aug. 8, the NJDOT site said. It happened in the northbound lanes around 9:45 a.m., north of Interchange 13A in Elizabeth. As of 10 a.m., two lanes were closed with traffic delays reported.

Jackknifed Trailer Closed I-95 For Several Hours In Philadelphia
Interstate 95 has reopened in Philadelphia following a tractor trailer crash early Thursday, Aug. 8. The trailer jackknifed in the 6:30 a.m. crash in between exits for Vine Street Expressway and Columbus Boulevard. 6abc says HazMat teams were called to the scene for a fuel spill. The forecast track has shifted for Hurricane Debby, which is set to pass through northern Maryland and Pennsylvania, and drop torrential rain on surrounding areas late this week. Five people were hospitalized in a DWI simulation involving a golf cart operator by a juvenile and an officer at National Night Out in Wildwood on Tuesday, Aug. 6, authorities said. A police officer with roots in the New Jersey borough that he serves is battling cancer, and his chief is asking for prayers. James "Jimmy" Ciampi, of the Fairfield Police Department, was described by FPD Chief Anthony Manna as a "young, bright, and dedicated" officer. A crash involving a county-owned rescue truck and a Toyota SUV closed a Hackensack street Wednesday morning, Aug. 7.
