An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

"The Santa Closet" is being performed at Embark in Peekskill at 925 South St. on Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. The play is written and performed by Jeffrey Solomon and previously ran Off Broadway. Yorktown Soccer Celebrates Cinderella Season YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- It was a season to remember for the Yorktown Huskers varsity soccer team. The soccer team made it to the sectional finals before losing to Byram Hills 3-2 in overtime. The team finished the season 7-8-1.  "We had a pretty remarkable run," soccer coach Ed Polchinski said. CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission wants to make sure Cortlandt's Indian Point can withstand an earthquake, according to an article in Capital New York. The NRC is requiring Indian Point to conduct a high-level earthquake risk report on both of its units.  Entergy had argued the risk to its Unit 3 reactor was overstated and that it would be burdensome to conduct seismic risk tests on both units, according to NRC documents. The assessment is expected to cost Entergy $10 million. Falling asleep at the wheel has been shown to have sometimes fatal consequences.
