Threat Forces One-Hour Lockout At Three Ossining Schools OSSINING, N.Y. -- Three schools in the Ossining School District were placed on lockout Thursday afternoon after a threat was made on social media. Prominent Ossining Artist Is Charged With Sexual Assault In Vermont OSSINING, N.Y. -- Mark Sadan, a 75-year-old Ossining resident was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault on a minor by police in Vermont. Sadan, a prominent artist, filmmaker and photographer in the village was arrested on Dec. 19 in the state of Florida. A warrant had been issued for Sadan's arrest in Vermont on Dec. 8 after being accused by Montpelier Police of sexually assaulting two minors over several years. Yorktown News Photographer Stan Gitner Dies At 85 YORKTOWN, NY. -- Stan Gitner, a news photographer known for being a fixture at accidents and fires, died on Saturday at the age of 85. Gitner died at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt after a recent illness. Before becoming a news photographer, Gitner worked in motion picture film rejuvenation for more than 30 years. Gitner was also a Yorktown Auxiliary Police Officer and in 1982 he was appointed the Deputy Director of the Town of Yorktown Office of Disaster and Emergency Services, a position he held until his death. Tom Leszczynski launched a Kickstarter for tpad, a refillable Titanium-bound notepad. Every year, Rich and Eileen Baisley, former Peekskill High School graduates, host an annual reunion of former Peekskill residents in Jupiter, Fla. This year, the reunion is taking place in Carlin Park in Jupiter on Feb. 19.
