PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A home in Peekskill was destroyed by a fire Monday, though no injuries were reported. The home, at 140 Fremont Street, collapsed, according to Mayor Frank Catalina. Two Firefighters Injured Battling Briarcliff Blaze BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- A fire on Long Hill Road East in Briarcliff injured two firefighters Saturday afternoon. The two firefighters suffered smoke inhalation fighting the fire and were taken to a hospital, according to LoHud. It took firefighters two hours to extinguish the blaze, which heavily damaged the house, according to LoHud. A woman who was inside the house when the fire occured was not injured, according to LoHud.

Garrison's George Pataki Lags In Presidential Fundraising GARRISON, N.Y. -- When it comes to fundraising, Gov. George Pataki's campaign is lagging behind his rivals. Pataki, who lives in Garrison and previously served as mayor of Peekskill, is ranked last among all presidential candidates in money raised, having raised only $255,794 through June 30 according to the Federal Election Commission. According to the FEC, 69 percent of Pataki's donations were for $2,700, the maximum allowed to any candidate. Pataki has spent 18.8 percent of his campaign's money, $48,174 and has $207,620 left, according to the FEC.

Lifeguard Keith Mattos saw the child, believed to be around 4 years old, bobbing in the water and initiated a trauma save at around 1:30 p.m., according to park manager Brian Strasavich.
