Westchester Tips Program Piloted By Pace Wins National Award WHITE PLAINS, N.Y .-- Westchester County announced last week that its program designed to help seniors monitor their health care has won a national achievement award. TIPS (Telehealth Intervention Program for Seniors) was selected for a 2016 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award. Buchanan Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Three Children BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- A 73-year-old Buchanan resident was sentenced to 12 years in state prison Wednesday for sexually abusing three children over the course of six years, the Westchester District Attorney's Office announced. Calman Greenburg pleaded guilty in May to two counts of course of sexual conduct in the first degree (a Class B violent felony), and one count of course of sexual conduct in the second degree (a Class D violent felony). Alleged Ossining Check Forger Charged With 27 Felonies OSSINING, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old Ossining resident has been charged with being a prolific check forger by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. Devante Rainey, who lives on Snowden Avenue, was arraigned Monday on a 27-count complaint. The District Attorney's Office said it had been investigating Rainey for two years. They said Rainey purchases photographs of co-defendants payroll checks and then uses routing numbers and checking account numbers on those checks to create forged checks using small business software. Looking Back At Purchase Street In The 1900s RYE, N.Y. -- Walking along Purchase Street, one would pass many of the buildings still here today dating back a century ago, according to a placard outside of Chase Bank at 73 Purchase Street. Composed by the Rye Historical Society, it describes the town in the early 1900's. The street then was lined with horse drawn carriages and gas lamps were lit at dusk. Police Looking For Men They Say Tried To Lure Boy Into Van In Peekskill PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill Police are looking for two men who tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into a van Thursday night. The teenager told police that as he was walking on Spring Street, a man in his 40s or 50s exited the passenger side of the white van with black bumpers and tinted windows, and asked him if he wanted a ride home, police said.
