An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Atria Hosts Dog Show To Raise Money For SPCA BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The Atria Briarcliff Manor is really getting into the dog days of summer.Atria hosted a "Dog Days of Summer Dog Show" to benefit their furry friends at the SPCA of Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. Atria family members paraded their dogs for residents. A 50/50 raffle was also held and the winner generously donated her winnings back to the shelter. North Salem Resident Attends GOP Convention For First Time NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- It was the week of a lifetime for North Salem resident Howard Hellwinkel. Friends, Family Pay Respects To Ossining's Bastian Pasten, 20 OSSINING, N.Y. -- Bastian Pasten was remembered at his funeral Tuesday as a kind and humble person whose smile could light up a room. Pasten, 20, died of injuries from a motorcycle crash on Route 117 in Mount Pleasant last week. Pasten attended Ossining and Sleepy Hollow High School and enjoyed playing football, wrestling and lacrosse. Funeral Will Be Held For Ossining Crash Victim Bastian Pasten, 20 OSSINING, N.Y. -- Bastian Pasten, a 20-year-old Ossining High School graduate who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Route 117 in Mount Pleasant this week, will be laid to rest Tuesday, Aug. 30. A wake will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Star of Bethlehem Church at 304 Spring St. in Ossining, with the funeral starting at 11 a.m. Pasten will be buried at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Armonk Set For Annual Windmill Triathlon ARMONK, N.Y. -- It's going to be a day of swimming, biking and running in Armonk Labor Day Weekend. The 12th annual Windmill Triathlon will take place at the Windmill Club at 10 Maple Way on Saturday, Sept. 3, with the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. The triathlon attracts participants from all over Westchester.
