Hospitals Report No Solar Eclipse Injuries It looked like everyone knew not to look at the sun. Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, and Nyack Hospital said as of Monday afternoon they reported receiving no injuries related to the solar eclipse. People were warned to only look at the eclipse wearing special glasses or to make their own glasses out of a cereal box. The eclipse was the first to sweep across the entire country since 1918. After Aug. 21, the next total solar eclipse is due for April 2024.

Putnam Celebrates Solar Eclipse With Viewing Party PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. --  The Putnam Valley Library is gearing up for a once in a generation experience. The Putnam Valley Library will be hosting a viewing party at Putnam Valley Town Park on Monday for the solar eclipse. During the eclipse, the sun will disappear behind the moon, turning daylight into twilight, and leading to a quick plunge in temperature before streamers of light streaking across the sky around the moon's silhouette.
