I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Nolan was a baseball player who had been drafted by the Oakland Athletics. Police said an unknown person shot Nolan because of an argument about a drag race, the story said. Research Suggests Link Between Late Bedtimes And Weight Gain University of California researchers recently published a study that found a possible link between later bedtimes and weight gain, the New York Times reported.The research followed 3,342 adolescents from 1996 through 2010, with participants reporting their normal bedtimes, fast food consumption, and time spent exercising and watching television at three points, the Times said. The researchers calculated each person's body mass index (BMI) at each of the three interviews, reported the New York Times. Police Suspect No Foul Play In Death Of Man Found On Route 22 BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Bedford Police do not suspect foul play in the death of 47-year-old Raymond Kelly of Poughkeepsie, who was found dead on the side of the road on southbound Route 22 in Friday, News 12 Westchester reports.The body had no visible signs of trauma.  Officials are still waiting for the coroner's autopsy results, according to News 12 reports. Ross, for allegedly driving while intoxicated.Police reported they saw a driver moving slowly and crossing into the opposite lane.
