I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Stamford Man Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter In 2014 Halloween Crash STAMFORD, Conn. – Police charged a 27-year-old Stamford man with vehicular in a drunken-driving collision in the early morning after Halloween 2014, according to the Stamford Advocate. At 2:30 a.m. Nov. 1, 2014, Jose Sierra-Velasquez hit several people standing on the on-ramp of Exit 7 of I-95 in Stamford after an earlier collision, police told the Advocate. Police Charge Wappinger Man With Drug Possession WAPPINGER, N.Y. – State Police arrested Kyle T. Cowan, 21, of Wappinger, for criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, a Violation, according to the New York State Poice. On Oct. 22, police stopped Cowan for operating a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust system. The police reported that they found Xanax and marijuana while investigating. Cowan is due to appear before the Town of Wappinger Court on Nov. 19.
