Little Ferry Is Getting A New Middle School, District Breaks Ground This Weekend
A long-awaited new middle school is finally coming to Little Ferry. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 1 p.m., as they prepare to begin construction on the new facility. Participants are asked to meet at Memorial School (130 Liberty St.) and walk across the street to the site, assisted by a crossing guard. The new school will be a three-story, 64,000-square-foot building, expected to open in 2027. Five people were shot and a suspect is in custody after gunfire broke out Tuesday afternoon, May 27 at the Brass Mill Center Mall in Waterbury, police said. Waterbury Police officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 4:43 p.m. on May 27, at the Brass Mill Center, located at 495 Union Street, according to a statement from the Waterbury Police Department.
