Norwalk Officers Recognized For Solving Car Thefts, Assaults, Murders NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Department recently recognized Lt. James Walsh, Detective Christopher Imparato, Officer John Haggerty and Officer Taranjit Singh as the September Officers of the Month for their work solving car thefts, assaults and cold case murders. Walsh and Singh were recognized for their observation and apprehension of several car thieves who were in a stolen SUV. Teens Caught Driving With More Than A Pound Of Pot In Wilton WILTON, Conn. -- Two teens were arrested with more than a pound of marijuana in their car after they were stopped driving with a defective headlight in Wilton, police said.At around 11 p.m. on Sunday, the Wilton K9 Unit conducted a stop of a car driving north on Route 7 with a defective headlight, police said. While making contact with the occupants of the car, an officer could detect the odor of burnt marijuana, according to police. Stamford Breaks Ground On Intersection Improvement Project STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford recently broke ground on intersection improvements for Henry Street at Atlantic Street.Mayor David Martin and City Engineer Lou Casolo celebrated the improvements. A building will be coming down in the next week or so, according to the city, and the intersection will be straightened out over the winter.

Man Mugged On East Main Street In Stamford Overnight STAMFORD, Conn. — Two men beat up another man and stole his wallet on East Main Street in Stamford in the early hours of Monday morning, according to the Stamford Advocate. The man told police that he was walking from the Taco Bell to Culloden Road at around 1 a.m. when the two men appeared behind him, the Stamford Advocate reported. Gas Prices Decline In CT — But Still Much Higher Than A Year Ago FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Like autumn leaves, gas prices in Connecticut continue to fall and are expected to continue to do so over the next month, but prices are still higher than they were at this time last year. Man Killed In Bridgeport Barbershop Shooting Died Trying To Stop Gunman BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A barber who was shot and killed in Bridgeport on Saturday died while trying to protect his customers as well as the shooter's intended target, according to the Connecticut Post. Deon Rodney died after being shot at Just Right Cutz barbershop on Park Avenue at 7:17 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.
