Two Charged With Cashing Fake Checks In Monroe MONROE, Conn. -- Two people were charged with using fraudulent checks to steal more than $4,000 from the owners of a Dunkin' Donuts in Monroe, according to the Monroe Courier.On Aug. 10, two people cashed fraudulent checks for $400 and $556 from the account of Monroe Coffee LLC, which owns the Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins on Route 25 in Monroe, according to the Monroe Courier. An investigation revealed that 13 checks had been cashed fraudulently from the account, totaling more than $4,000, the Monroe Courier reported. Stamford Man Charged With Stealing $34K From Restaurant STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford man was charged with stealing checks from the restaurant where he worked and writing $34,000 worth of checks to himself, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that the manager of Six Thirteen restaurant Prospect Street noticed a cash shortfall last month. They discovered that 53 checks were written between May and November to an employee, 45-year-old George Spiro Moschos, according to the Stamford Advocate. Man Charged With Strangling 10-Year-Old Girl In Wilton WILTON, Conn. — A 53-year-old New Haven man was arrested in Wilton after police said he strangled his girlfriend's 10-year-old daughter during an argument, according to the Hour. Kyle Navin Turns Down Plea Deal, Will Face Trial For Parents' Murder BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Kyle Navin has rejected a plea deal that would see him serve 60 years in prison for the murder of his parents, and will instead go to trial for the charges, according to the Connecticut Post. Bridgeport Man Gets Prison Time For Selling Heroin In Fatal Monroe Overdose BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man will serve more than a year in prison for selling heroin to a Monroe woman who fatally overdosed, according to John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut. Man Walking Dog Hit By Car In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. — A man walking his dog was hit by a car on East Main Street in Stamford on Monday morning, but walked away from the incident uninjured, according to the Stamford Advocate.
