Monroe Man Charged With Sexual Assault MONROE, Conn. -- A 39-year-old Monroe man was charged with sexual assault in connection with an incident that took place in October. Police said that they received a complaint in October of a sexual assault that had taken place earlier in the month. After an investigation, police arrested Jose Perez of Monroe, who police said was known to the victim. Perez turned himself in to police on Thursday and was charged with third-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and public indecency. He was released on a $50,000 bond and will appear in court on Dec. 15.
