Video: Police Help Hawk Fly Free After It Crashes Into Greenburgh Home A hawk that accidentally crashed through the window of a Westchester County home was saved thanks to the help of police officers who knew just what to do.  On Monday, Jan. 2, the bird of prey flew into a home in Greenburgh, leading the homeowner to call police for help, Greenburgh police said.  After arriving at the house, officers were able to throw a blanket over the distressed bird and carry it back outside.  There, the bird was able to regain its bearings and eventually fly away, as seen in a short video of the incident released by the department. The owl was saved after the DEC received a report on Wednesday, April 22, in the town of Neversink.
