Montgomery County Cities Among Most Culturally Diverse In The US, New Study States
Several Maryland cities were ranked among the US’s most culturally diverse in a new study by personal finance company WalletHub.
The study breaks down the cultural diversity of more than 500 cities using key indicators like ethnoracial diversity, linguistic diversity, and birthplace diversity, according to 2024 US Census Bureau data.
WalletHub ranked the top five ethnically diverse cities as:
1. Gaithersburg, MD
2. Jersey City, NJ
3. Germantown, MD
4. Silver Spring, MD
5. Kent, WA

The mass exodus of residents leaving New York State is not exclusive to upstate, and has spread to the New York City, Westchester and Long Island.

Dutchess enjoyed population gains between 2016 and 2017, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
Dutchess County had the biggest net migration increase in the Hudson Valley region, with about 1,000 more people moving in than leaving the county last year. That made Dutchess the third-fastest growing county of New York's 62 counties.
