Hackensack Teen Dead, Philly Man Among 2 Hurt In Kansas Crash
An 18-year-old New Jersey woman was killed and two others injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 70 in Kansas, authorities say.
A rental box truck traveling west around 6:15 a.m. Monday, when it crossed into the center median several times and rolled over, according to Kansas Highway Patrol.
Hackensack's Isabella L. Carroll died, while Joshua A. Mejias Ramos, 23, of Philadelphia, and Brian Cordero Nunez, 22, of Paterson suffered minor injuries, police say.
It wasn't immediately clear who was behind the wheel.
No one was wearing a seatbelt, according to KHP's crash log.
Police Issue Thousands Of Tickets In Area During National Child Passenger Safety Week
Thousands of tickets were handed out by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley during National Child Passenger Safety Week.
Troopers in Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Green Counties issued more than 2,100 tickets to motorists during the special detail, which lasted from Sunday, Sept. 15, through Saturday, Sept. 21.
During the detail, troopers issued 86 child restraint tickets. In addition to those, another 2,042 tickets were handed out for various vehicle and traffic violations.

Over the two-day Fourth of July time period so far, Connecticut State Police say troopers have responded to a total of 79 motor vehicle crashes, with one serious injury.
Since the holiday enforcement got underway on Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m., state police responded to 2,642 calls for service, including the 79 for crashes, which, fortunately, none resulted in fatalities.
Other stops included helping 112 disabled motor vehicles 23 arrests for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
