Delayed Opening For These NJ Districts Where Heavy Snow Fell The New Jersey school district in the town that got the most snow in the state over the weekend, and some in those around it, will operate on a delayed schedule Monday, Jan. 8. "All Sussex-Wantage Regional Schools will have a 90 minute delayed opening tomorrow Monday January 8th," the district announced on its website. "Morning care is closed. Use emergency snow bus stops if assigned one both morning and afternoon." The threat was reported on Monday, Sept. 27 at the Lakeside School in the Merrick School District. School officials made the announcement early on Monday morning as the Nassau County Police Department “actively tried to deem it safe.” The nature of the threat was not immediately made clear. First Day Of School Cancelled In Hartford; Students Were To Return To Class Tuesday, Sept. 8 Today was supposed to be the start of the new school year for many Hartford students. But a ransomware attack has delayed the beginning of the academic year. In a letter home to parents, Hartford Public School District administrators said that there would be no in-person or online learning today, Tuesday, Sept. 8. The ransomware “caused an outage of critical system and restoration of those systems are not complete,” the letter said. It is unclear when classes will resume.
