Driver, 44, Airlifted When Vehicle Overturns On Route 78 In Hunterdon County: Njsp A 44-year-old Cranford man was airlifted to a nearby hospital after his vehicle overturned on Route 78 in Hunterdon County on the evening of Sunday, April 28, authorities said. At 7:07 p.m., a GMC SUV was traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Union Township when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  The man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

New Jersey State troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 78 westbound near milepost 20.2 in Lebanon Borough at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. Based on a preliminary investigation, the driver of a Chevy Silverado suffered a medical emergency and subsequently struck the center median guardrail, State Police said. Troopers performed life-saving measures but the driver was pronounced dead at the crash scene.  The driver's name had not been released.
