Madison Marsh, who is working on her master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and currently a graduate intern with Harvard Medical School, was crowned on Sunday, Jan. 14. Covid-19: Number Of Arrests In CT At Historic Low During Pandemic With most confined to their Connecticut homes during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, crime is hitting historic lows statewide. In April, there were 2,734 arrests in Connecticut, down 46 percent from the month before (5,041), according to the state’s Office of Policy and Management’s (OPM) Criminal Justice Public Policy and Planning Division. In the month of March, when the pandemic first struck, there were 5,041 people arrested, which itself represented a historic low. State May Be Softening Policy On New License Plates, Reports Say Not so fast. New York state officials may be hitting the brakes on the new license plate plans that would have required drivers to pay to replace plates that are more than 10 years old. Under New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s plan, beginning on April 1, 2020, if license plates are at least 10 years old, drivers will be charged $25 for new plates, regardless of their current condition. U.S. Inspector General Launching Investigation Into Greenburgh Mail Service The Office of the Inspector General of the United States Postal Service is launching an investigation into the occasionally spotty mail service that has been plaguing Greenburgh residents in recent weeks. Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced on Thursday that after inquiring to U.S. Postal Service officials regarding the lack of delivery recently, he received an email from Patricia Irons, the Manager for Public Policy Planning and Analysis for U.S.P.S., who said the matter has been forwarded to the Inspector General.
