24-Year-Old Riding On Top Of Car Killed In Crash Involving Fairfield County Woman, Police Say A 24-year-old man riding on top of a Honda Civic was killed when he fell off the roof causing the vehicle to crash in Connecticut, authorities said. Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest For Area Man A 27-year-old man was nabbed on alleged possession of drug charges following a traffic stop. Francisco Soares, of Derby, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 7, by Milford Police after being stopped by the department's TAC Unit on an anti-crime patrol in the area of Old Gate Lane. During the stop, officers found Soares had a suspended license and an active warrant for his arrest, police said. Man Caught With Crack In Parking Lot Of Area Hotel A 34-year-old man was allegedly busted with crack cocaine after officers checked out suspicious activity at an area inn. Bruce Jelliffe of Milford was arrested Thursday after Milford Police observed alleged illegal activity in the parking lot of the Milford Inn at 345 Old Gate Lane, said Milford Police Officer Joseph Dempsey. During an investigation, Jelliffe was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.  He was charged with possession of narcotics and released on $250 bond. Jelliffe is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 6.

Police: Drunken Driver Fell Asleep In Wendy's Drive-Thru In Milford MILFORD, Conn. — A 26-year-old man was arrested on drunken driving charges after he fell asleep in the drive-thru at Wendy's overnight, Milford police said. Milford police were called to the Pilot Travel Center on Old Gate Lane at 2:53 a.m. Sunday about the driver.  An investigation led to the arrest of Angel Irizarry of West Haven on a charge of driving under the influence, police said. Irizarry provided a breath sample, which showed he had an elevated blood alcohol level, police said.  He was released on $500 bond for a court appearance on Feb. 8.
