A woman was able to wriggle free and save herself in Alexandria after a reported attempted sexual assault in an otherwise quaint neighborhood on Monday morning, police say. A former Washington DC Metro Transit (MTPD) officer will spend time on the other side of the prison bars for beating an unarmed rider with a metal baton during a bout of rage, federal authorities announced. A reward is being offered as Metro Transit Police Department investigators continue their search for a man who stabbed a rider on a MetroBus repeatedly over the weekend. D.C. metro police have arrested the suspect in a recent stabbing incident, officials said.On August 23, Antownne Turner, 51, stabbed two victims at around 3:50 p.m. on the Red Line platform, according to the Metro Transit Police Department. The male victim, who Turner stabbed in the stomach during an argument, is in serious but stable condition, officials said.
