A child was flown by medical helicopter to the hospital for serious injuries after he crashed his dirtbike into a moving vehicle, officials say. The dirtbike, operated by a 10-year-old boy, crashed into a motor vehicle at the private Crow Island Airpark in Stow around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, according to Stow Police and Fire Departments. 2 Boats Collide On Mascuppic Lake In Tyngsborough, 1 Person Seriously Injured
A boater was seriously injured after two crafts collided Friday afternoon, May 19, on Mascuppic Lake in Tynsborough. Tyngsborough police and firefighters were called to the lake just before 5 p.m. after the collision. Both boaters were able to make it to shore. Authorities did not release their names. One of the boaters was seriously injured, and paramedics rushed them to an area hospital with serious injuries. The other did not need medical attention, Tyngsborough police said. Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Law enforcement officials are dealing with a spike in dirt bike thefts throughout Massachusetts, with Central Mass being hit the hardest. Firefighters used a hovercraft to rescue an elderly man who had become trapped on an ice island in the middle of a lake Monday, Dec. 28. The man, who was not identified, was out hunting in the Knightville Dam area in Huntington when he became lost and found himself on a patch of ice 300 feet from shore, according to MassLive. Criminal charges have been filed against hunters who allegedly killed a 200-pound bear they attracted using barrels of food such as donuts, molasses, and corn. The charges stem from an incident the Massachusetts Environmental Police in Western Massachusetts witnessed, police said.
