More than a billion dollars in spending will be up for a vote on Tuesday, May 21, as voters determine the fate of more than a dozen school district budgets and candidates vying for Board of Education seats. Budget proposals range from $23.68 million in Webutuck to a whopping $234.95 million in Wappingers. Port Chester Attempts Second Bond Vote For $11M Middle School Repairs Port Chester schools are giving it another try, proposing an $11 million bond issue for major repairs at the district's middle school. In February, by only 53 votes, residents of the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District narrowly defeated a $12.5 million renovation project with most of the work planned at Port Chester Middle School. The second vote is 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5 in the middle school gymnasium.  A total of 940 residents voted for the project and 993 voted against it on Feb. 6, as reported here by Daily Voice.

Davis, the deputy mayor, defeated challenger Bill Fulton for the Third Ward trustee position, by 118 to 104 votes. Here's What $25M Bond Referendum Will Fund In Fair Lawn Schools Voters approved the Fair Lawn School District Bond Referendum in a special election held on Tuesday, March 13 by a vote of 2,241 to 1,458.  The $25 million bond referendum will fund a plan to build new classrooms and expand other facilities to solve the space demands of the local population growth.   The district qualifies for $3.8 million in state aid, reducing the out-of-pocket expense for taxpayers to $21.2 million. With a vote of 733 to 153, voters approved Proposition One, which includes a $6.28 million plan that will replace antiquated roofs across the district’s three buildings.
