A former racehorse trainer from Long Island will likely spend the remainder of his life behind bars for sexually exploiting a child and possessing child pornography, officials announced. Anthony Mulhearn, of Mulinavat, Ireland, was in the U.S. on a visa staying in Spring Lake when he was hit by a North Jersey Coast Line train at about 11:50 p.m. Thursday just south of the train station. Longtime retired Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer died at his home in Northport. Dormer, 79, died on Sunday, April 21, following a three-year battle with cancer, said the Suffolk County Police Department. Dormer joined the department in July 1963 and was among the first 800 officers in the young department’s history, they said. A 71-year-old woman suffering breathing problems died on a Newark-bound flight from Frankfurt, reports say. United Airlines crew members administered oxygen and used a defibrillator on the woman, with several people taking turns doing CPR for nearly 40 minutes last Wednesday, passenger Adam Lisberg told the Irish Sun.
