A cow was rescued after being trapped in the mud, the Whitehouse Rescue Squad in Readington said on Facebook.  Whitehouse Rescue Squad At 5:44 p.m., the rescue squad was dispatched to Holland Brook Road near Cole Road and discovered the cow in the mud, approximately 50 yards off the roadway, first responders said. Driver, 44, Airlifted When Vehicle Overturns On Route 78 In Hunterdon County: Njsp A 44-year-old Cranford man was airlifted to a nearby hospital after his vehicle overturned on Route 78 in Hunterdon County on the evening of Sunday, April 28, authorities said. At 7:07 p.m., a GMC SUV was traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Union Township when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  The man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
