Fire Breaks Out At Home Under Construction In Area A fire damaged a home under construction in the area. The fire started around 11:19 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16 in Rockland County at 48 Briarcliff Drive in Monsey. According to the Monsey Fire Department, when firefighters arrived on the scene they found a working fire in the basement of the home. Crews were able to make a quick initial push and had the fire extinguished shortly, keeping the fire contained to the room of origin, the department said. No one was injured in the fire. Robert Murdock, Town Employee In Hudson Valley For 30 Years, Dies At 57 Robert Murdock Jr., who worked as a town employee in the Hudson Valley for 30 years, has died at the age of 57. The lifelong Rockland County resident was born in Suffern and was a graduate of Ramapo Senior High School. According to his obituary, Murdock worked as an assistant general foreman for the Town of Ramapo Highway Department. Man Injured In Deck Collapse At Hudson Valley Home, Police Say One person has been injured after a second-story deck collapsed in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 14 in Rockland County at a residential home in the Hillcrest area of the Town of Ramapo.   One 58-year-old victim was transported to the hospital by Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps & Rockland Paramedic Services, Ramapo Police said.
