Man Killed In 5-Vehicle Wreck Involving Garbage Truck Off Long Island Expressway In Hauppauge
One person is dead following a multi-car crash involving a garbage truck that occurred on a Long Island Expressway off-ramp. The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. Monday, July 3, in Hauppauge, at Exit 57, on the eastbound off-ramp to Express Drive South. A garbage truck rear-ended a school bus and three other vehicles that were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Motor Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police. A sanitation worker is recovering after a garbage truck crashed on Long Island Friday morning, Feb. 10. A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a garbage truck while crossing a street in the Hudson Valley. New York State Police are investigating after a garbage truck crashed into a home in the region. Troopers responded to a report that the truck crashed into a home in the Sullivan County Town of Callicoon at about 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, according to State Police. First responders were called to Monmouth County on a report of someone injured in a garbage truck. Someone was sleeping in a Dumpster on Monday afternoon when it was emptied into the back of a garbage truck, according to initial reports.
