Woman Dies After 70-Foot Fall In Ulster County A 39-year-old woman visiting the area died after falling 70 feet off a cliff at a state park in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, at Minnewaska State Park in the town of Rochester. New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar, age 39, and her husband Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said, age 41, both of Singapore, were hiking on Beacon Hill Trail when they stopped to take photos at the edge of the cliff.  Nevel said Binte MD Akbar lost her footing and fell off the cliff, approximately 70 feet. Napanaoch Man Nabbed For Pursuit Following Domestic Incident, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was charged with assault and unlawful fleeing following a domestic incident in which he allegedly attacked a woman. Ulster County resident Robert Vanhorn, age 48, of Napanoch, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 6. According to Sgt. Colin Reynolds of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday, Oct. 5 deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic violence attack in Napanoch. Teen Gang Assault: 5 Suspects Accused Of Repeatedly Beating 16-Year-Old In Ellenville Five Hudson Valley teens have been charged with allegedly repeatedly beating a 16-year-old causing bleeding from his mouth and nose. The incident took place in Ulster County near the entrance to the Berme Road Park in Ellenville. After the teen was able to break away and run, the five continued to follow him as he fled the park and beat him again at two other locations including at 244 Canal St., said Chief Phillip Mattracion, of the Ellenville Police. Man Charged In Fatal Area Stabbing A 21-year-old area man has been charged with the stabbing death of a man in the area. Sullivan County resident Tiquan Underwood, of Fallsburg, was arrested following the stabbing of Ulster County resident Gomar Gonzalez, 24, of Wawarsing, around 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 3, said Trooper Steven Nevel, a spokesman for the New York State Police.
